genesis
Graphic Designer Jason Curry is a dedicated mixed media painter. Custom Sneakers and Swatch Watches are the primary focuses of his art. His interest in art began in 1986 when his parents bought him a couple of X-Men comic books at a yard sale. Over the next couple of years he developed his artistic skills by learning how to draw and playing the piano by ear. In 1988, he saw his first pair of Jordan IIIs and was blown away by the design and functional aspects of an athletic shoe. From then on, he knew he was a Sneakerhead (that term wasn’t even coined at that time).
In 1996, Jason was a student at The University of South Carolina with an undecided major, until he took an art history class and was inspired by Jackson Pollock, Piet Mondrian, Basquiat, and Pablo Picasso. He soon switched his major to Art and finished College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 1999.
Jason now paints custom and rare sneakers on canvas and paper on the side as a hobby. He has unique style and uses acrylic paints, spray paints, charcoals to artistically render the shoes. |
